Mold design (10)
Mold making (33)
Plastic mold (24)
Die casting (15)While injection molding is capable of fabricating a wide range of industrial plastic materials, certain types of plastic require specialized processing methods in order to meet application-specific needs. Reinforced thermoplastic molding is a variant of the standard injection molding process that is designed to handle compound thermoplastics with reinforcing agents included as additives. Although it shares numerous similarities with injection molding, such as most of the equipment used, reinforced thermoplastic molding employs several distinct practices, including timing, cycling, and temperature control modifications.
Injection compression molding (ICM) is another variation on traditional injection molding that, much like reinforced thermoplastic fabrication, relies on the same set of equipment while employing different molding criteria. ICM focuses more on the problem of molding contraction and thermal effects, and it applies unique forming strategies to craft products with close dimensional tolerances and relatively low stress results. Both variants of standard injection molding reflect the versatility of molding processes and the techniques used to adjust manufacturing practices to meet specific material requirements.
